Judging Guidelines


  1. Judging will commence after July 22, 2022 for entries in the following competitions:
    Home Owner Flower/Vegetable Gardens, Youth Garden, Window Box/ Container, Commercial Flower Garden, Community Flower Garden, Commemorative Garden and Mail Box/Home Identification.


  2.  Judging will commence after September 1, 2022 for the following competitions:
    Heritage Home, Heritage Community Building, Heritage Commercial Building, Farm Home Improvement, Dairy Farm Improvement, Home Improvement, New Home Completion, Potato Warehouse Improvement, Commercial Building Improvement, Tourist Accommodation Improvement, Rural Cemetery, Community Building Improvement, Community Improvement and Reuse-Recycle-Repurpose.


  3. Entries will not be advised of the date and time judges will arrive.

  4. Judges will take photographs of the properties during the judging process. Photographs will become the property of the Prince Edward Island Rural Beautification Society.

  5. Additional prizes may be awarded if warranted.

  6. The decisions and the selection of the winners made by the judges are final. Records are the confidential property of the Society and will not be made public.

  7. If a special award cannot be presented as advertised, the Society reserves the right to present an award of equal value to replace it.

  8. The intended mandate of Prince Edward Island Rural Beautification Society is to enhance the rural landscape of PEI. Therefore, only residential / commercial properties and community organizations located in rural Prince Edward Island will be accepted (excluding Charlottetown and Summerside).

  9. Artificial Flowers can’t be used in any of the competitions except for the Rural Cemetery Competition.
