Eligibility

The Tourism Accommodation Competition is open to any tourism accommodation such as, but not limited to: Hotels, Motels, Cottages and B&B’s. Judges will evaluate the overall appearance of the property, including the criteria noted below. The tourism accommodation must be in Rural PEI (excluding Charlottetown & Summerside).

 

Judging will commence after September 1, 2026.

Criteria for judging & Scoring:

• General appearance and curb appeal of the property  350 points
• Attractiveness of the main & additional exterior structures  250 points

• Parking area, identification, signage, lighting  150 points
• Planting of/or preservation of existing trees, shrubs, etc.  200 points
• Lawn construction and maintenance  100 points
• Flowers, both annual and perennial, display and maintenance care   200 points

• Fencing, either decorative and/or privacy  100 points

• Sign design and attractiveness 100 points

• Free of litter on highway frontage with grass trimmed  100 points
• Canadian/Provincial flag displayed  50 points

Total Possible Points:  1600 points
